People on Fire

When I first started coaching with Rick my son was 14 months and I had just started to go back to work again. Everything changed for me once I had a baby and my life had become 100% about being a mom. I felt lost and even a little depressed about my personal goals and dreams and was determined to uncover them to help gain a bit of myself back.
I remember feeling like I had made the right choice when I started filling out the questioners prior to our first visit. I started to remember that I had dreams, goals, and things I wanted to accomplish and I began to get excited about achieving them.
One particular buried dream was that I loved to write but had always thought my writing stunk. On our first meeting Rick mentioned that I should start a blog, and I sheepishly told him that I had already had one, for over a year, but had not shared it not even with my husband. He just smiled and gently said “maybe you might want to think about telling your husband you have a blog.” I ended up doing just that and shortly afterwards starting another blog and have received the most amazing feedback on my writing. Working through a fear that was so huge for me made me wonder what else I wasn’t doing because I was afraid of failure.
Throughout my time with Rick he pushed me to move beyond my comfort zone, but always did it in a gentle and loving way. In addition to pushing me to move beyond my writing to video blogging, or even getting published, he would remind me to slow down, take a nap, and remind me to remember the reasons behind all the actions that I was taking. He constantly would reiterate my 20 year vision back to me to encourage me to see the bigger picture.
A good coach practices what he preaches and lives the life he is wanting for others. Rich is passionate about what he does and everything he tells me to do he practices in his personal and business life as well. I really appreciated all the books and other tools he gave me, like the white board that helped me stay on task and feel success on a daily basis.
I highly recommend Rick Siegmund as a coach, and I am looking forward to the next time we get to work together!
